More serious than Plamegate

War

The ever expanding story about espionage amongst the translators at Guantanamo has, well, expanded.  Johno’s favorite TV station, WCVB-TV channel 5 (modestly self described as the “Boston Channel") has a report that a third person was arrested at Logan airport, right under Johno’s nose.  And he says he’s serious about the war on terror.

That American military personnel are passing information to the enemy is a very serious problem.  This is treason.  If they are guilty, the constitution is very specific about what the penalty is.

  1. 1) Who approved these people’s security?

    2) Why is the Army’s only approved source of Islamic chaplains also a known nexus of terrorist funding and fundamentalist Islamic thinking?

    3) Fucking Logan.

    4) Buckethead, remember what you said yesterday about NASA and their way of thinking, and how it was unhealthy for them to continue in that vein?

  2. Yep.  That’s why I said this is serious.

  3. More seroius than Plamegate...yeah, in terms of information security, probably.  In terms of SETTING A FUCKING EXAMPLE, no...let’s face it—how can you prosecute Joe Achmed Muslim soldier for violating security laws, when you do everything you can to avoid prosecuting employees in the highest office…

  4. I have no problem prosecuting Joe Achmed terrorist traitor.  And while I personally have no power to help or hinder anyone prosecuting employees in the highest office, the Justice department inquiry has begun, and Bush has said the the white house will cooperate.  As I have been saying, there is no proof yet that a crime has been committed - we do not yet even know if Plame was a covert agent.

Since everyone keeps comparing this to Clinton, were you as eager to avoid Clinton’s prosecution in the Senate as you accuse me of being in this case?  Do you hear me saying, “let’s move on?”

If I see any real evidence that someone in the White House leaked this, I want their heads.  But it looks like it certainly wasn’t Rove, or Bush, or anyone particularly high in the administration, if it turns out that it even happened.  The evidence is not in, and I refuse to presume guilt.

  5. This is a mistake which I seem to make eternally, that I imagine the sufferings of others as far greater than they really are. Ever since my childhood, the proposition ‘my greatest dangers lie in pity’ has been confirmed again and again. by casino online
