Great Homos in History

Crazy Foreigners

Die Welt reports that the fat bastard Belgians are teaching their children that Ataturk, revered father of the modern secular Turkish state, was a total homo.  Not surprisingly, initial response from the Bosporus is not receptive to this claim.

No time to translate the whole piece- feel free to work on it yourself and update as appropriate.

  1. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk gay?  Never heard that - alcoholic yes, but gay?

Let’s face it - the Turks are a hell of a lot tougher than Belgians both individually and nationally and Atatürk is their biggest national hero.  I foresee some Belgians getting beat-downs.

  2. Bram,
It is worth noting that neighboring Germany has a large and touchy Turkish minority.  And so might Belgium, for all I know.

My point is that revenge-minded Turks won’t have to march out of Anatolia to deliver whup-ass to the infidels, as they historically have; they’re already there.

  3. There were homos in history?  Who knew?

  4. Apropos Belgians, is it appropriate, as OpinionJournal did yesterday, to refer to relations between the US and Belgium as “U.S.-Belch relations”?

  5. As for that translation, here’s a choppy version, but the point comes through pretty loud and clear.

  6. Bastards. Google doesn’t appear to allow linked (referred) calls to their translation. If anyone cares, cut and paste the link below into a browser.

(edited to remove even the Google translation link - it effed the page up to no end, and didn’t work.  Hmmph.)
